Why hello there, Filthy Dreams reader! I know what you’re thinking: “Dear Filthy Dreams, I have nothing to do with my Friday night. Its going to be another night in with a bottle (or three) of Chardonnay, binge-watching True Detective for the eighth time and waiting for the Chardonnay shocker to arrive at 4am so I can bleary-eyed watch cat videos on YouTube.” Well, fear no more, faithful Filthy ones! We’ve got an exhibition for you to attend.
We, here at Filthy Dreams, are nothing if not loyal to our…ahem…many contributors. Ok, we’ve had about three. But we love them immensely! That’s why we wanted to promote our contributor Osman Yerebakan’s upcoming exhibition Residual Impression: A Look At Contemporary Prints at the Abrazo Interno Gallery in The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center (107 Suffolk St, 2nd Floor). The opening will be tomorrow, Friday December 5 from 6-8PM.
Curated by Osman with twenty artists, the show will feature a wide range of contemporary and often unexpected takes on print-making from Nicole Reber’s wonderfully trashy Hawaiian shirts made from stereotypical images of Hawaii (including Nick Nolte’s startling mugshot and her own estranged uncle’s arrest on Dog The Bounty Hunter) to J. Morrison’s evocative prints of kissing men on toilet paper. That’s a print we can get behind!
So come on over kweens! We’ll be there–probably swiping a ply of J. Morrison’s “Dot Men” toilet paper.

‘Residual Impression: A Look at Contemporary Prints’ aims to investigate the current trends in printmaking. The works presented in the exhibition suggest unorthodox approaches to the medium, shedding a light on what is innovative and unconventional in various ways.
