Why hello there dear Filthy Dreams readers! Have we got a treat for you! Last night at The Broad in Los Angeles our favorite filth elder interrogated blue-chip artist and Michael Jackson portraitist Jeff Koons on subjects ranging from his menacing inflatables to children to John’s loathing of riding dolphins and their shared love and utmost respect for trash.
In complete honesty, we here at Filthy Dreams have never known quite what to make of Jeff Koons considering his almost terrifying cheeriness reminds us of a more wooden Howdy Doody. However, John’s insightful, hilarious back and forth with Koons made us look at Koons’ art in a whole new light–a trashier light!
Perhaps our favorite segment is Koons’ description of a sleazy ashtray at his grandparents house that he thought was more beautiful than the Pieta. Oh Jeff! Welcome to Filthy Dreams!
We have way more to say on this fabulous interview but thought we should get this up right away to celebrate this hysterical and informative interview.
